Krishak Bandhu
Krishak Bandhu was launched in 2019 by the Department of Agriculture administered by the Indian state of West Bengal. The scheme was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. This scheme is designed for the poor farmers of West Bengal who cannot afford their farming expenses.
The government made the scheme to benefit the farmers so that our West Bengal farmers can easily farm and benefit the country. Like the Kisan Bandhu Status, PM Kisan Yojana, Krishak Bandhu is a direct benefit transfer scheme introduced by the West Bengal government in January 2019. The objective of this scheme is to help the poor farmers living in West Bengal.

Components of Krishak Bandhu
Assured Income: The Chief Minister has decided to restart this scheme. On June 17, 2024, it was announced that double financial assistance would now be given to farmers. Earlier, farmers used to get Rs 6,000 per year for an acre or more. There were, and now the farmers will be given double the amount, like 12000 rupees annually.
Death Benefit: In Krishak Bandh’s death benefit, if the age of the farmer is around 18 to 60 years, his family is given Rs.2 lakh. Around 7 million farmers have benefited from the Krishak Bindu scheme, and if you need it, you can benefit from it, too.

- This scheme was started only for the people of West Bengal which was started by Prime Minister Mamata Banjri.
- The benefits of this scheme are given to the farmers of West Bengal and their families.
- The eligible person who fulfils the eligibility criteria gets annual assistance of Rs 10,000 for land cultivation.
- Under this scheme, the amount is given in two equal instalments; the first instalment will be 4 thousand, and the second will be 10 thousand.
- A farmer with one acre or more land will be assisted with 2 thousand rupees.
- In case of the death of a farmer between the ages of 18 and 60 years, his family will be given an aid of Rs 2 lakh.
- Eligible farmers of Krishak Bandhu will be given priority in the state government’s paddy procurement scheme.

Eligibility Criteria
- This person should be a farmer.
- The person applying must live in West Bengal.
- To get the guaranteed income benefits, the applicant must own land that can be farmed and has ROR, Patta, forest Patta, and a recorded bhagchasi.
- If a farmer or Bhagchasi dies between the ages of 18 and 60, their formal heirs will get death benefits.
